METALLICA: 'Frantic' Video Available Online

August 16, 2003

The world premiere of METALLICA's video for the track "Frantic" will take place this Saturday, August 16 on MTV2 during "Headbanger's Ball". The show airs at 10:00 p.m. EST. In the meantime, you can check out the video on the band's official web site, www.metallica.com. Watch it online: Windows High, Windows Med, Windows Low, Real Player.

As previously reported, the "Frantic" video was shot in late July by director Wayne Isham (BRITNEY SPEARS, RICKY MARTIN, 'N SYNC) in the suburbs of Montreal and features a desperate man in his mid-20s driving a car and remembering traumatic and chaotic incidents in his life.

Most of the scenes were shot in a Montreal apartment, and focus on the guy's decadent and dangerous lifestyle. At the clip's conclusion, the troubled man decides to end it all by causing a high-speed multiple-car collision.

Action sequences for the "Frantic" video were coordinated by stuntman Andy Armstrong, who worked on the film "Charlie's Angels". The song is the leadoff track from METALLICA's latest disc, "St. Anger", which came out June 5 and has sold 1.2 million copies to date. Check out pictures from the video shoot here.
